DEGREASING AND SHOT BLASTING

DEGREASING is an operation to remove oil and grease present on the surface of parts as a by-product of their manufacturing process. Parts are fed through a tunnel where the degreasing solution is sprayed so that parts are cleaned thoroughly.

SHOT BLASTING is a mechanical abrasive cleaning. Scale and rust are removed from the surface through the impact of steel spheres (shot), which are scattered over the metal substrate at high speed under controlled conditions

ADVANTAGES

The mechanical cleaning process does not produce hydrogen embrittlement because no hydrogen is generated and absorbed. This is its main advantage

Shot blasting also relieves internal tensions of the metal part originated through its manufacturating process (cold forming).

Shot blasting is an environmentally friendly process because chemicals are not used to clean the parts.

GALOL, SA also offers as an additional treatment:

  • Deburring. Removal of burrs and sharp edges produced during the manufacture of the part (cold forming, machining).
  • Mass finish vibrator. Mass finishing process through abrasives in a vibrating equipment to smooth the metal surface of parts
