DESCRIPTION:
GEOMET ® is a water based coating system, which contains zinc and aluminium flakes in an inorganic matrix. This coating system does not contain Cr6+ and complies with environmental regulations such as 2000/53/ECand 2002/95/EC directives. Geomet provides corrosion protection by:
- Barrier effect
- Cathodic protection
- Surface passivation
- Self-healing effect
PROPERTIES
- No risk of hydrogen embrittlement
- Bimetallic corrosion resistance
- High performance in cyclic corrosion resistance tests of OEM’s (GM9540P, Toyota CCT_A, Ford APGE, Renault ECCI (AI) or VDA 621-415)
- Heat resistance: Coating properties are maintained at temperatures of 300ºC
- Chemical resistance: Solvents, fuels, engine oils, brake fluids, etc.
- Electrical conductivity
- Good behaviour in combination with paints
- Outstanding results in natural corrosive environments, such as sea environments
- Good corrosion protection with low thickness layer
- Good friction properties. Values of coefficient of friction acc. to ISO 16047 can vary from 0,08 to 0,20 depending on the requirements
CORROSION PROTECTION PROPERTIES
Salt spray test results acc. to ISO 9227 can vary from 600 h to 1000 h depending of the coating configuration
