ZINC AND TIN MECHANICAL PLATING

DESCRIPTION

A zinc layer applied by mechanical means. Zinc powder is deposited through the action of glass beads and other additives in friction with the parts to be coated. A second layer of tin can be applied over the zinc layer.

PROPERTIES

• Plating process without hydrogen embrittlement
• For high-strength steel fasteners
• Layer thickness from 1 to 60 µm
• Colours: Bronze and black
• Corrosion resistance to NSS test: 96-120 h red rust

OTHER PROPERTIES

Tin can also be applied with a mechanical plating process to obtain a similar corrosion resistant coating plus good conductivity and welding properties.
