ZINTEK is not a typical paint, it is a zinc and aluminium rich coating.
The metal pigments are mixed with an inorganic polymer, which reacts on the
metal substrate and provide a zinc and aluminium containing inorganic coating.
The coating does not contain hazardous metals such as Cr6+.
A dry lubricant is added to the product to improve the friction behaviour
The minimum coating thickness to be applied depends of the requirements of
the part drawing or specification. The minimum layer thickness varies from
4 to 6 µm.
ZINTEK is an environmentally friendly product and complies with the new regulations.
TECHSEAL is a water based organic coating that provides:
- Good corrosion resistance
- Colour for identification purposes
- Sealing over ZINTEK
- Low coefficient of friction
- Good corrosion resistance in unions over anodic metals (aluminium, magnesium)
TECHSEAL provides a layer thickness of 2 to 4 µm in bulk or coating process.
When applied in two layers with a total thickness of 8 to 12 µm over
ZINTEK, 1000 h without red rust in salt spray test can be obtained.
This coating system offers many advantages for high-strength fasteners, because it eliminates the risk of hydrogen embrittlement.
- Appearance. Standard
colours: black and silver. Other colours under request
- Chemical composition. No presence of Cr6+, Cr compounds and other hazardous
heavy metals
- Layer thickness. It can be varied according to the corrosion resistance
requirements
- Corrosion resistance. More than 600 h to red rust under salt spray test
- Heat resistance. It withstands exposition to 150 ºC for three hours
without compromising its properties of corrosion resistance
- Coefficient of friction. It can be adjusted from 0,08 to 0,14 or from 0,12
to 0,18
- Cathodic corrosion protection
- Ductility (no flaking after bending operations)
- Chemical resistance to solvents
- Recyclable after use
- Cure temperature of 200 ºC. Mechanical properties of most materials
are not affected
These properties have been widely checked by test performed at UCG and by
the industry. Dynamic tests by the automotive industry have also been performed.
